Digital Escape Room: Ancient Egypt

When libraries were forced to close down at the start of quarantine, one brilliant librarian from Peters Township Public Library decided to create a Harry Potter digital escape room that went viral across the internet. Over the past couple of months, libraries all over the world have been creating their own escape rooms to share not just with their own patrons but with other libraries and their own patrons. Each Thursday in June, we have decided to highlight and share one of these escape rooms for you, your friends, and family to play and enjoy while social distancing.

This week, we are featuring this Ancient Egypt Tomb Challenge escape room created by Morgan Lockard from Campbell County Public Library in Kentucky.

How to Play:

  1. Decide if you want to try solving it alone, with a few friends, or with your family.
  2. Open the link down below and follow the escape room’s instructions. Some may require you to do additional research on the internet or take notes along the way.
  3. Let us know how you did in the comments! Was it too easy? Too challenging? Are there other themes you hope to see in the future?

Good Luck!

Shanon Barton works in Youth Services at the Kirkwood Public Library. She started volunteering for KPL when she was in 7th grade and loves that she gets to work there as her “real adult job.” When not hanging out in the stacks at work, she can be found at home watching Netflix, eating pizza rolls, and planning themed events with friends. If you catch her with her nose in a book, it will most likely be a YA historical fiction novel with some sprinkling of supernatural or magical elements.
