Kirkwood Public Library is Now Offering Curbside Pickup!

To utilize our Curbside Pickup service, place items on hold through our online catalog. When you receive your notification that your item(s) are available, please come to the library and follow the directions on this page. If you would like assistance picking out some items, please contact us at (314) 821-5770 and follow the prompts to speak to a Reference or Youth Services librarian.

Curbside Pickup service is limited to items ready to be picked up; including library materials, 3D and large format prints, and VHS conversions. Please do not utilize the designated Curbside Pickup spaces for assistance picking out library materials.

Taylor Lot - Curbside Only

Library owned parking lot off Taylor Ave. There will be 2 designated parking spaces for curbside pickup to allow safe space for staff and for vehicles coming and leaving. If these spaces are full, we ask that you wait elsewhere before entering.

Where Should I Park?

Parking for Curbside Pickup is at the library’s parking lot off N. Taylor Ave. Here there are 2 (two) parking spaces reserved for Curbside Pickup. Each space is labeled with instructions on contacting the library to obtain materials you have on hold.

To maintain safe space for our staff and for curbside customers, there is NO additional parking in this lot. If the 2 (two) Curbside Pickup spaces are full please DO NOT enter the parking lot. Please wait elsewhere until a space becomes available.

Can I Walk Up for Curbside Pickup?


We will also have a walk up location near the N. Taylor parking lot for pedestrians. Just look for the Walk-Up Pick Up sign, which will have instructions on contacting the library to obtain materials you have on hold. If there are others in front of you, please form a queue line and maintain social distancing of 6 feet between each person.

Staff will periodically be checking at the walk-up location for patrons who do not have cell phones. If you do not have a cell phone please wait at the walk up location or notify a staff member as they are delivering materials, so they may assist you.

May I Return Library Materials Now?

Of course!

All returns should go in the drive up or exterior book drops. Staff will not be able to collect returns from patrons at the time of Curbside Pickup. Returned items will be quarantined for 4-5 days, after which time they will be checked in and returned to our shelves. Therefore once you return items to the library, they will still show on your library account for at least 4 days until we are able to check them in. These procedures help ensure that any items that you receive will have not been touched for an appropriate amount of time. Please allow a week to check in your materials. If they still appear on your account after that, let us know and we’ll look into it for you.

All items may be returned except for electronic items that are required a signature at the time of check-in and items that will not fit into the book drops. To arrange returns of electronics or larger items please contact Courtney Flesch at (314) 821-5770 ext. 1024.
