I love a good movie, and when the family’s hectic schedule finally slows down in the summer, there’s more time for catching on up on the films I missed seeing in the theater. Netflix is great, but the Hot DVD collection here at Kirkwood Public Library is my go-to source for movie night. (I realize I may be a bit biased!) In many cases, I can check out one of my most-anticipated films on DVD the same day it’s released. This summer, I’m looking forward to two movies in particular: The Zookeeper’s Wife, a World War II drama set in Poland; and The Lost City of Z, the fascinating true story of a mysterious lost Amazonian city.  Both are based on best-selling books of the same names. The Zookeeper’s Wife is expected on July 5, and The Lost City of Z is set to arrive on July 11. My calendar is marked!

Here are more films coming to home video this July:

Which ones are on your most-anticipated list?
