Electronics Recycling at KPL

Kirkwood Public Library Is working with PCs for People to offer FREE Electronics Recycling in February. Drop your old electronics in the big blue bin near the public copier. 

What can you recycle? (Working or Not) 

  • Computers 
  • Tablets: (iPads must be iCloud unlocked)
  • Cell Phones: 
  • Accessories: Mice and Keyboards, Cables and Cords, SD Cards, Laptop Batteries

All items must fit in the bin, so if the bin is full or your item is too large, you won’t be able to leave it with us. Please limit to one at a time, and only bring what you can carry yourself, our staff are keeping our library services on track, and won’t be available to help you unload.

Who is PCs for People? PCs for People is a nonprofit organization that provides computers, low cost internet and computer repair to low income families. They fund their mission by providing secure, responsible electronics recycling and use the proceeds and equipment to provide the life changing benefit of digital access.

Is it secure? YES! PCs for People is AAA NAID Certified (National Association of Information Destruction), meeting or exceeding DOD (Department of Defense) and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) standards for data sanitization and destruction.

Are they environmentally responsible? YES! They are R2 Certified.
