Grant Funded Technology – 2023, Part I

By Nick  |  Uncategorized

Every year the Kirkwood Public Library receives funding through many different grants to enhance library programs and services. The items below are but one of the technology related grants that we were awarded.

Unleash your creativity at the library with our MakerBot Sketch Large 3D Printer! There are so many possibilities for designs that you can bring to life. Choose from a vast collection in our online 3D print binder or craft your own masterpiece – submit it, and watch it materialize before your eyes. Explore the endless wonders of 3D printing – where imagination meets innovation, only at the library. Learn more details here.

We love spotting play at the library! Exploration for imaginative & social play abound at stations like our LEGO board, puppet theatre and STEM toy tables, and thanks to a grant from IMLS through the MO State Library our early literacy iPad station is also a great place for kiddos ages 2-5 to explore! With educational apps chosen by KPL librarians there are pages of reading, math, phonics and creative games available to encourage language play and create positive screen time options for 2-5 year olds.

This project is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the LSTA as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
